We did it. Our first Trusted Housesitters “Sit”. For those of you who have not heard of Trusted Housesitters, you can check out an earlier post I wrote explaining a little more about the service. The Sit was for 10 days in the beautiful town of Estepona Spain. 

Our drive to Estepona took us 4.5 hours. The drive was beautiful and calm except when we had to drive through Sevilla. Sevilla is a little like LA. Intersections darting everywhere, people changing lanes at the last minute and roundabouts galore to add to that chaos. 

We had communicated with the owners of the house a few times so we already felt we knew a little about the house and the pets but there was still a tiny bit of anxiousness inside of me as we drove up to the HUGE ASS house. 

 Once we were inside the house I immediately felt at ease. The owner was delightful and made us feel at home right away. Walking into someone’s home you don’t know is a strange feeling. When you do an Airbnb it is different because they are not there. 

We were quickly greeted by two of the cutest dogs I have seen in a while. I was immediately excited as these furry friends rushed to greet us. The first dog was named Polo. He was a HUGE dog. Polo was a gentle giant. His mere size could scare people, but he was such a sweetheart. He wanted to be with us always and if one of us went down the stairs he would sit at the top and whine. He loved to rub up next to you and go between your legs. This dog was so big you could ride him, imagine that between your legs lol.

The other dog was named Bambi. Sweet Bambi had the most beautiful eyes—the kind that looked at you full of appreciation for the attention she was given. She never barked unless her brother Polo did. She spent her day chasing the sunshine. She loved to sit on the couch and find that sweet spot where the sun would shine down on her and lull her to sleep. 

And then there were the sweet cats. There were two house cats and five outside stray cats that were our responsibility to feed, water and give body rubs to. The two cats were so sweet and truly just wanted attention whenever they could get it. Cats are so much more independent that we did not need to do much with them. We would feed the two house cats daily and clean the litter boxes. We always tried to hang out with them so they had attention but they quickly got bored with us.  When I say stray I should clarify they are not stray. Claudia gave each one of them a bed and had them vaccinated. They slept outside on the big table. Feeding them was truly an adventure each day.

As if caring for these adorable fur babies was not enough excitement, we were also responsible for 40+ terrapins ( turtles ) and 60+ fish in a ginaromas pond. This was actually an easy responsibility, all we had to do was throw in two scoops of food every 3 days. It was fascinating watching the fish devour the food. I enjoyed watching the terrapins sunbathe on the rocks each day.

Here are some random pictures of the house. The house was decorated in a way that I connected with and that made it even more cozy.

Lastly, I will show you some pictures of the cute little town we stayed in, Estepona Spain. We LOVED this little town. It was full of life, great food, and lots of restaurants and we were surrounded by kind people at all times. We will be back.
