Wellness

Wellness has always been my jam. Once I quit my job as a Behavioral Health Counselor in 2018, I went hog wild with obtaining as many certifications as I could. My goal was to immerse myself in learning how to be zen, eat the rainbow, and help others do the same. My wellness addiction brought me many certifications and the idea to create my own wellness coaching business, All in the Balance. My certifications included: Clinical Aromatherapist, Meditation Teacher, Nutrition Coach, Breath Coach, 200hr Yoga Teacher/ Yin Yoga teacher and although I did not ever complete my herbalism teacher training I did gain a bucket load of knowledge about herbs. I think I fall into that saying ” I am a jack of all trades, but a master of known” lol

When we moved to Portugal I sold All in the Balance. Man was that hard and I still miss it daily. My clients became my friends and to this day still hold a place in my heart.

I continue to be obsessed with wellness and navigating what that means to me here in Portugal. Part of the reason I started this blog was because I missed sharing tidbits with my clients. I plan to continue to expand my knowledge of wellness and I hope some of the tidbits prove to be helpful for you.

Have you ever tasted a white mulberry?

Have you ever tasted a white mulberry?

I am always on the hunt for fun new healthy or healthy(ish) foods. If you know me, you know food is my life. I have loved food for most of my life so I figured if I did not want to end up being 200+ pounds I had better find a way to eat clean and healthy/healthy(ish)...

There is more to working out then visiting the gym

Many moons ago I was a gym rat. Back in the day when I was a School Counselor, my day started pretty early. In addition to having a full day on the job, I was the mother to two active girls. I was no busier than most working mothers, but finding time to work out was...

“Why I wake early”

“Why I wake early”

Ok I know I am probably in the minority when it comes to waking early but it has always been a part of me. Even as a child, I loved to wake up before everyone else. As I grew older I loved it even more for different reasons. Today my routine is very simple: I wake...

Where are my toes?

Where are my toes?

We have been home from our grand adventure for one week and I still can not see my toes! When we left in November of 2023 I was in pretty good shape. I had been doing yoga, playing padel, and working out with weights a few times a week. In addition, we had just...

Benefits of drinking red tea

We are huge tea drinkers in our home. I have been drinking tea for decades and consider it not only tasty but also a staple in my medicine cabinet. I only like hot tea and Mike only likes ice tea. Sometimes it is a wonder we are so happily married as I swear we do...

Oatstraw

Age

Age

I am 58 years old and I am more active then I was in my 30's and 40's. One thing 58 years of living has taught me is it is your "thinking" that determines everything. Our negative thinking pattern can stop us from experiencing the present moment. Thinking is the new...
