Christmas in Portugal is much like Christmas in the States, magical.

Last year we were in Las Vegas for Christmas getting ready to board for our around the world cruise. I can not believe it has almost been a year since that crazy awesome adventure. Being with Kellie and her fiancee in Nevada for the holiday was so special and one memory I will always hold close to my heart.

The Christmas before last Kellie came to Portugal to spend the holiday with us. This is a memory full of laughter, road trips and lots of champagne. This Christmas so far no sighting of Kellie but maybe she is surprising me and is on a plane now lol

One of the really cool things we love about living in the Algarve in Portugal is that there are all these little towns that bust with personality. They often call these towns villages. Last night the town of Porches ( 10 min away from our home ) put on a Christmas Market. Christmas Markets are new to me but not new to Europe. Some countries have famous Christmas Markets where even cruises are designed around them. This was not that kind of Christmas Market but it was full of laughter, bustling with people and the spirit was overflowing in the streets. Here are a few pictures of our first Christmas Market experience in Europe. My favorite part was seeing the people dancing in the streets to the music and the kids darting in and out of the narrow cobblestone streets chasing each other while nibbling on roasted chestnuts. Is this really my life???????? Pinch me.
